Abstract: This thesis, entitled “Design and Synthesis of Symmetry-tuned Metal-isothiocyanate-Based Complexes for Ferroelectric, Piezoelectric, and Memtransistor Studies” explores the rational design and synthesis of metal-isothiocyanate (M-NCS; M = Er, Fe, Mn) complexes supported by asymmetric ammonium/phosphonium cations, unlocking their potential in ferroelectric switching, piezoelectric energy harvesting (PENG), and neuromorphic computing. While M-NCS-based systems have been widely studied, their polarization-switching capabilities in molecular ferroelectrics remain underexplored. Bridging this gap, we demonstrate how symmetry engineering and coordination tuning in these hybrids lead to unprecedented functional properties.
