The standard method for calculating the resultant field in a multiple-slit interference experiment, based on solutions for the cases that all but one slit is blocked, yields an incorrect answer. This error leads to incorrect predictions for precise tests of generalised quantum theories. By treating the slitinterference problem as a boundary value problem, we find a better method to deal with slit-interference. We try to verify the results of this theory though experiments in the microwave regime, which being macroscopic, has got many peculiarities. By conducting an experiment that is precise enough to detect a small correction term to the standard theory, we lay the foundation for future experiments to verify a generalised quantum measure theory proposed by Sorkin.en_US
