In this study the distribution of ants across different habitats in the Bangalore Urban area with special reference to invasive ants was observed. 24 sites which cover a wide variety of habitats were sampled. 61 species of ants belonging to 24 genera and 6 subfamilies were recorded from all localities and habitat types. Ant species diversity was the highest in places with more green cover. It was observed that the Invasive ant species ratio was higher in places with a lot of human activity compared to other sites There is a lack of literature dealing with distribution of invasive ants in Bangalore. We hope that this study will lead to a lot more studies in this field.en_US
