Abstract: | The present invention discloses cost-effective, rechargeable, precious metal free aqueous zinc battery having closed cathode architecture with a freely diffusing electron acceptor. More particularly, the invention discloses precious metal -free aqueous zinc battery having closed cathode architecture with a working voltage beyond the thermodynamic limit of 1.23 V which is achieved by modifying the interfacial chemistry existing at the cathode/electrolyte interface. |
