Historical monuments are the cultural heritage of any nation. They serve as points of remembrance and can facilitate tourism. In this project, there is an attempt to characterize mortar samples obtained from different historical monuments in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Their chemical composition has been analyzed and tabulated. This study can serve as a reference material for any future research in this field and the data obtained could serve as a benchmark for any monument restoration work if it takes place in these selected areas. This study also tried to determine if any particular pattern or trend is observable in the chemical parameters calculated for these samples.en_US
