Abstract: Although order in polymeric systems has been widely studied and debated, the overall evidence for the same has been deemed quite incoherent as well as insufficient. In this project, we introduce a novel structure, arc-2, that shows some significant potential in the formation of systems capable of orientational order. The molecular dynamics simulation software, LAMMPS, is used to study the properties of the systems containing polymers of arc-2 structure. The results obtained from these simulations indicate the presence of at least short range (domain-based) order in polymer systems. Apart from that, during this process, we further encounter an interesting new phenomenon of ”hidden-flips” and attempt to explain the same on the basis of the system’s inability to relax.
