Abstract: | In the past decade, there has been a lot of interest in exploring the magnetization dynamics in spin canted antiferromagnet for their possible useful role in the areas of antiferromagnetic spintronics. The canted spin structure in such antiferromagnets arises through the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction. In this work, we present our results on the magnetization, thermoremanent magnetization and temperature dependent Raman studies in such a room temperature canted antiferromagnet FeBO. The measurement of thermoremanent magnetization with time brings out the time-stable character of remanence. Furthermore, the time-stable remanence varies in a very unusual way with the (cooling) magnetic field used to prepare the remanent state. Temperature variation of Raman spectra in the vicinity of Neel temperature, 348 K, brings out anomalies in the vibrational modes. The present study shows that FeBO can have technological importance particularly in the areas of antiferromagnetic/weak ferromagnetic spintronics. |
