Abstract: This chapter intends to impart the role of silylenes in the coordination of coinage metal complexes. The coinage metals are well known to play a crucial role in several organic transformations, and the coordinated ligands can modulate their properties. Owing to strong σ-donor properties and tunable ligand framework, the silylenes can offer an exclusive coordination environment around the coinage metal. Consequently, they hold the potential to catalyze various homogeneous organic transformations. Recently, N-heterocyclic silylene (NHSi) ligated coinage metal complexes have shown their potential as catalysts in CuAAC reaction, glycosidation reaction, and A3 coupling reactions. However, this area is still in its infancy and needs a detailed discussion to venture into its hidden potential.
