Abstract: | The energy deposition due to the pair annihilation of neutrinos into electrons can energize events such as Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs). The deposited energy can be increased or decreased with the choice of the compact star background. We study the contribution of light vector gauge boson in depositing energy by extending the standard model with U(1)B-L gauge group. From the observation of GRBs, we obtain bounds on the gauge coupling and gauge boson mass in different backgrounds. The constraints on gauge coupling in modified gravity and quintessence backgrounds are stronger than that of neutrino electron scattering experiments. GRB observations with better accuracy in future can further strengthen our bounds. |
