Abstract: The first observation of the decay Ξžβˆ’π‘ β†’πœ“β‘(2⁒𝑆)β’Ξžβˆ’ and measurement of the branching ratio of Ξžβˆ’π‘ β†’πœ“β‘(2⁒𝑆)β’Ξžβˆ’ to Ξžβˆ’π‘ →𝐽/πœ“β’Ξžβˆ’ are presented. The 𝐽/πœ“ and πœ“β‘(2⁒𝑆) mesons are reconstructed using their dimuon decay modes. The results are based on proton-proton colliding beam data from the LHC collected by the CMS experiment at βˆšπ‘  =13 TeV in 2016–2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fbβˆ’1. The branching fraction ratio is measured to be ℬ⁑(Ξžβˆ’π‘β†’πœ“β‘(2⁒𝑆)β’Ξžβˆ’)/ℬ⁑(Ξžβˆ’π‘β†’π½/πœ“β’Ξžβˆ’)=0.8⁒4+0.21βˆ’0.19⁒(stat)Β±0.10⁒(syst)Β±0.02⁒(ℬ), where the last uncertainty comes from the uncertainties in the branching fractions of the charmonium states. New measurements of the Ξžπ‘β’(5945)0 baryon mass and natural width are also presented, using the Ξžβˆ’π‘β’πœ‹+ final state, where the Ξžβˆ’π‘ baryon is reconstructed through the decays 𝐽/πœ“β’Ξžβˆ’, πœ“β‘(2⁒𝑆)β’Ξžβˆ’, 𝐽/πœ“β’Ξ›β’πΎβˆ’, and 𝐽/πœ“β’Ξ£0β’πΎβˆ’. Finally, the fraction of Ξžβˆ’π‘ baryons produced from Ξžπ‘β’(5945)0 decays is determined.
