Abstract:
Recent years have witnessed a meteoric rise in the utilization of carbenes as ligands for the synthesis of coinage metal complexes due to their potential application in various fields. One of the very promising applications of such complexes is their use in the new optical devices and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), arising from their interesting luminescence properties. Herein, we are providing a comprehensive overview of the synthesis and photophysical properties of a variety of carbenes (NHCs, CAAC, DAC, and MAC) supported luminescent coinage metal complexes.
